A friend of the show has been simultaneously celebrated and besmirched. BFH said more than his share on Twitter, so Gene weighs in on our beloved Malkah Duprix (Mountain Kids Fantasy, @mocoddle on Twitter) and her recent rise to internet fame (and infamy) as the curator of “Law & Order & Food.”

Shakeytown Radio Minute: Marco

Our first episode with your friend and mine, Bob Schriner, as an official member of Team Shakeytown, is named after the late Marco Holt (pictured above). The first half is very funny as we wonder- outside music festivals: why? The second half is more reflective as we discuss the good folks we’ve lost the last month or so. Finally, we wrap up with a preview of our upcoming guests, and music from Marco’s most recent project before his passing, The Tremulants.

Helium’s “Magic Box” opens what is supposed to be a Tuesday talking about television, but becomes complaining about television critics. We try not to spoil “American Horror Story,” “Dexter,” “Burn Notice,” and “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.” Plus, an embarrassing story related to “Portlandia.”

Shakeytown Radio Minute: The End Is Nigh (10:57)

Considering the show starts with “This Is The End” by SNFU, you’d have to assume the podcast is coming to a close. But perhaps it’s merely a new beginning? 

Today is the first in a week of minisodes. In the upcoming days, we’ll catch up with what BFH and Gene have been up to, talk about television, give our unnecessary opinions about a recent comedy community controversy, answer some questions from Twitter, and look forward to what the show will be attempting to accomplish in 2012.
